           Pondy Bazaar is a food step market located on  T. Nagar, in southern Chennai. This is your one-stop shopping place for cheap jewelry, clothing and other souvenirs. The real highlight is cheap madras cotton.                      Pondy Bazaar is a good place for all types of clothes in Chennai and  cheapest cloth materials to the most expensive ready-made shirts and sarees, everything can be found within a range of 2-3KM. Big brands like Reebok, Globus, Raymond Group,  Nike, Levi Strauss. and Colour Plus are present along with cheaper outlets like Big Bazaar and Sri Krishna Collections among others, thus offering a wide range of options to the middle as well as the upper class shoppers.Most necessary commodities such as used books,  soap cases, buckets, ropes, hair bands, bangles, bags and other accessories are available from roadside shop.

This are the main areas . Singaravelan Street came up within a few months after the Chennai Corporation moved over 600 shops off the pavements to a shopping complex in Pondy Bazaar in November 2013. Shops on Sivaprakasam Street began cropping up last month. In the last week, at least a dozen fruit and vegetable shops have come up. Inside the shopping complex, half of the third floor remains unoccupied though 14 shops have been provided place. On the second floor, over a dozen shops remain unoccupied.
